I’m finished a mid-term test! I want to say that I studied hard last night. I actually tried to study, but I couldn’t concentrate on studying because I bought a DVD last week. It’s my favourite sitcom called, “The Office”. I ended up watching the sitcom instead of studying until midnight. I like, “The Office”, because of it’s story and characters. The story is very simple, so it’s easy for me to understand, even though I couldn’t exactly catch their English. I don’t need to think too much. I’m just laughing when I’m watching it. Also, the characters are very funny. They are hilarious and sometimes vulgar. I love them. I think those kinds of characters seem to exist as my neighbours, co-workers or even friends, but if they were really in my life, I would be annoyed with them, for sure.
Recently, my life in Vancouver is like this. I try to study, but I don’t. I watch DVD’s and laugh. I watch hockey games and shout. It maybe sounds boring, but I’m really enjoying my life in Vancouver. Anyways, I’m finished the test, so I want to drink beer this weekend. I need to check the TV schedule later.

Recently, I’m planning something that I should do after Canada. This is my 5th month here, only 1 month remains, I think it’s high time to plan some things to do when I go back to Korea. I’ll leave here on the 20th of December, and I’ll be in Korea on the 22nd of December. Even though that’s so close to Christmas, I can’t expect to spend Christmas with my girlfriend, because she’ll be back to Korea on the 30th of December from Australia. However, it’s okay for me, because I’ll be so busy preparing for my Europe trip. And even if we can’t stay together on Christmas, we can spend at least New Year’s day together.
Anyway, right after going back to Korea, I’ll sell my compact camera and buy a DSLR camera again. Originally, I had a DSLR camera before I came here, but I sold it because it was quite heavy to carry. A few days after I sold my DSLR camera, I realized that I couldn’t be satisfied with the compact camera’s photo quality. That’s why I’m planning to buy a DSLR camera again, especailly for my Europe trip.
I’m also considering about joining TETSUSON 2010. TETSUSON is a graduate exhibition for students who are studing any kind of design in university. It’ll be opened in Yokohama, Japan, next March. I joined the last one; TETSUSON 2009, last March. It was a great and unforgettable experience. Now, I’m not sure whether I’ll join again, or not, due to my Europe trip. But if I have enough time to finish a new project for the exhibition, I’ll join again. It’ll be great! I hope at least I can visit the exhibition.

Today is my first time to write a blog using English. So, I ‘m exited now.
Recently I really miss my dog.
I had two dogs , but one of my prettiest dogs passed away, but I still have one lovely dog. His (my dog is a boy) name is Moca. My sister bought him when she was in elementary school , she really wanted to have one more dog, so she tried to save money to buy a dog. However, my family and I thought it was impossible to save enough money to buy a dog, it’s too expensive for kids but ,finally she saved money, and got a pretty small dog. Actually, I didn’t want to have a new dog, because I wanted to care just for our big lovely dog. I worried about my big dog; I thought he would feel lonely because of a new dog, so I never touched the new dog. So, my sister and my family already decided which dog we would have when I went somewhere(maybe, I went on a school trip?) And I got a new family member.
After six years, I love the dog so much, I already loved him when he came to my house. My big dog also likes the new small dog too, they played together, so I think my big dog didn’t feel lonely. And I didn’t need to worry about the big dog. My family still loved my big dog, nothing changed, just we got one more great family member. He really helped me when my big dog died. He has a very strong bad smell . I really miss this smell. I can see him on the internet, but he can’t notice my voice, I think he should notice my voice haha. I want to meet him and I want to hug him.

Before I came here, I couldn’t spend much time with my family and friends. At that time, I was very busy to prepare many things, so I spent all time concentrating on me. These days I always think about them. I’ve lived in Vancouver almost 4 months, and I have to stay here 7 months more. I know it’s not a long time in my life, but I already miss my family and friends. Of course, the life in Vancouver is good and very peaceful, but sometimes I really miss talking with mom, eating some snacks with father, spending time in the coffee shop with my friends, feeding my hedgehog, going shopping with my sister, even fighting with my lovely troublemaker younger brother. They are my treasures and sources of energy, as well as the most strong supporters.
Yesterday, my parents called me to cheer me up. They said the whole time that I should spend here is very important, because this is the chance to experience and to suffer from many things without any help. It will be very valuable nutrition for my life, although they really miss me. Also, I know what that means, so now I’m trying to study hard, as well as enjoy life.

Four months have passed since I came to Vancouver (^^) I’m very busy studying everyday, but I can enjoy my life in Vancouver !!!
My visit to Vancouver is the second time, so before coming here, I thought I would never feel homesick !!! ……….but I felt lonely and missed my family and my friends when I arrived in Vancouver.
But they cheer me up from Japan, so I don’t have to whine anymore !!
They are important people for me and I can’t live without them !!
When I go back to Japan , how can I repay them ???
By the way, my younger sister is gonna come to Vancouver next March, so I’m happy (^^) I wanna do everything possible for her whenever I have time !!

I came here because my purpose is to study English effectively, but now I changed my thought a little bit. I know English is most important, but there are many things I can enjoy in Vancouver. Every country is different from each other, moreover Canada is totally different from Korea. So, I have already stayed here for over 3 months, but everyday is new for me. I really love trips to anywhere, so I have kept traveling, and I’m taking part in a group; like a volunteer or anything. I have never missed anything about Korea. Until now I think I have done everything well, even now I’m satisfied with this moment that can be with lovely Melissa and classmates. I thank my parents that they give me the chance that I can enjoy in Vancouver. CARPE DIEM*

What is your favorite thing in PMM?
I am really satisfied with this program. Of course, pmm also can’t completely satisfy my requirement, but it is better than ESL course because I came to Canada to learn speaking, yet I couldn’t have many chances to speak English in ESL. Also, it was a really boring class. That is because I already know grammar, reading or vocabulary. These are really easy for me so it was OK that I didn’t study anything for ESL class. However, in pmm, I can have many chances to speak.
Except for these reasons, that other pmm classmates are good at English. So it is easy to have a conversation with them. For this reason, I can learn the specific words like, “actually”, which Jacob usually uses, “at that time”, which Jerry often uses and so on. Actually, when I was in ESL class, they and I were not good at English, so we were always talking in Korean.
However, I have a complaint about PMM course. There are so many people in PMM. I think 5~6 people fit for pmm. We don’t have many feedback because of many people. Furthermore, I want pmm to have more feedback about speaking grammar sentences. Almost all people want to speak English fluently and correctly; like someone who has a mother tongue. They don’t want to speak English, word by word. To speak English correctly, we should have more feed back.

I want to travel to East Canada in December, because I have one month vacation that month. However, it is so expensive for me to travel. TT
It can be okay if I spend only money on travelling, but I have to consider rent fee, the cost of living and other money which is needed in a month.
It will be over 2,500 dollars. I am a student who receives money from my parents, but I cannot ask my parents to send that much money to me because I am so so so sorry to ask them. It’s gonna be too big of a burden for them. I might give up traveling in December, but I believe that the time absolutely will come when I travel wherever I want to go, even if I miss the oppotunity to travel now.

I’m Jerry.
I have been in Canada for 4 months.
I really miss my mother’s food. When I was in Korea, I always ate meals in my home. I like to spread food’s smell in my home.
And my mother’s cooking is very nice and really delicious, so I really like my mother’s cooking.
My favorite food and my mother’s favorite food is the same, so we usually used to go to restaurants that we like.
Also, we used to go to department stores and go shopping. Now I really miss my mother…
Nowadays I’m chatting to my mother. Then I always said, “I want to eat food that you make”.
Since I came Canada, when I said “I love mother and father”, I’m so happy.
When I was in Korea, I didn’t feel my family’s cherish. But now I appreciate my family and really love them.
When I go back to Korea, I’ll always say to my family, “I love you”, and do everything that makes my parents feel happy.
See you next year!

What I miss most from Korea
Actually, when I was in Korea, I really liked to go outside. However, here I prefer to stay inside because there are many beautiful places in Vancouver, but they just look good! In Korea, there’s so many various things to enjoy. Especially I like ‘Hong-dae’, which is a big university and it is well-known for art. In front of that, there are lots of shops, bars and pubs, clubs, karaokes, and unique cafes. Of all of those, my favorite place is Hong-dae’s playground. That is quite small but every Friday, Hong-dae University students sell their products that they made by themselves. Those are very unique and special. Whenever I go to Hong-dae, I can feel the smell of youth and trends. I really like Hong-dae.
