The City of Vancouver is diverse metropolitan city contains made up of a wide range of multi-ethnic groups. Because the Vancouver is multicultural city, it's also multilingual. Many people speak more than one language and follow the traditions from both Canada and of their native lands.
After English and Chinese, the most common native languages in Vancouver are Punjabi, German, Italian, French, Tagalog (Filipino) and Spanish. More than half of Vancouver's school-age children have been raised speaking a language other than English.
