Orientation - your first day at school TIP! Watch our video! “English Program”
No need to worry! Relax! We are here to help you - especially on your first day at school.
Here is what will happen on your first day:
All ESL (English as a Second language) students will write the KGIC placement test. (For these students who have not written the online placement test in advance). This exam will test your reading, writing and grammar abilities. After the written test, you will have a series of interviews with some KGIC staff members. All this will help us determine the appropriate level for all of your classes.
Following your test and oral interview you will meet with your counselor or a staff representative, who introduces you to the college and college life. After that we will show you the campus and its facilities and if you would like to you can join our optional walking tour of the area, it offered in that month.
Students registered into ESL (English as a Second Language) meet at 8:45 am at the front desk of their respective campus (Robson, Surrey, Victoria or Toronto).
Classes start for all ESL students the next morning at 9:00 am .
Students registered into our King George International Business College programs start their classes at 9:00 am the same day. You will have an orientation in the afternoon.
Please bring
- A pen
- A photocopy of your passport (the page with your picture)
- A photocopy of your valid student authorization (if applicable)
- Your letter of acceptance
- A photocopy of your medical insurance documents (Medical coverage is mandatory for all students studying at KGIC)
- A picture for KGIC student ID card.
