KGIC Internship Guidelines

  1. The internship component is mandatory for successful completion of the program.
  2. The internship employment must not form more than 50% of the total program of study.
  3. KGIC internship program formally integrates a student's academic studies with paid or unpaid work experience in co-op companies.
  4. The internship Coordinator will conduct internship preparation workshops
  5. KGIC internship students are engaged in productive work rather than merely observing. The internship training related to the courses helps reinforce what they learn during their studies.
  6. KGIC internship is an opportunity for our students to gain a feeling of what it means to work in a Canadian organization, to communicate with native speakers in a professional environment, and to work on special tasks, assignments, or projects. Internship students normally work in a variety of departments to assist the company employees with their daily tasks.
  7. The internship placements must be authorized by KGIC. The internship student’s progress at work will be supervised by the companies and monitored by KGIC. An evaluation form is forwarded to the work places to allow them to provide feedback to KGIC about the students. The students must submit a work report. During the internship the students are still enrolled full-time at KGIC.
