  • Receive a monthly progress reports with your final grades and personalized comments from all your teachers.
  • Take Monthly Uniform Standardized Tests (MUSTs) in your Grammar and Reading & Writing classes
  • Take an In-Class Writing Exam every month.
  • Do oral presentations in your Communications class, to build up your public speaking skills and confidence.

Real World Radio ©

A joint project between KGIC and the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) for Listening & Pronunciation (levels 3 to 6):

  • Listen to your own CD featuring authentic clips from CBC radio programs.
  • Complete the exercises in the accompanying workbook.
  • Fine-tune your listening skills by listening to a variety of English speech patterns.
  • Expand your knowledge of contemporary Canadian culture.

5. Study Group

  • Be one of 12 specially selected students at Robson Campus who have demonstrated a high level of skill and determination.
  • Create your own self-guided project on any topic you like.
  • Receive a Letter of Recognition and a Certificate of Completion , once you have completed 2 months in the program.

6. Tutorials

  • Receive a free hour of one-on-one tutoring every week with one of our teachers or CAs.
  • Get extra help completing your homework assignments or mastering difficult concepts.
  • Practice your oral communication and listening skills.

7. Electives

  • Take one of our many elective classes, including Listening Practice, Vocabulary Enhancement, Idioms & Slang, Business English, Newspaper & Media, Talk until you drop, Drama Alive, Street Talk, Punctuation Power, TOEFL Practice, TOEIC Practice, and more!
  • Choose any elective based on the skills you most want to develop or improve.

9. Scholarship Ceremonies

  • Be acknowledged for your academic excellence , school spirit , or perfect attendance with a KGIC scholarship (given out every second month)
  • Take part in a special Scholarship Ceremony Activity , such as a speech, trivia, or karaoke contest.

10. Passport to Success

  • Receive stamps in your passport for getting good grades, having perfect attendance, participating in school activities, and more!
  • Once you have collected a certain number of stamps, you are eligible to receive one or more coveted prizes.
  • The more stamps you collect, the more prizes you can win!

11. Work Now! Resume Workshop

  • Discover your ideal career and find out what kinds of skills you need to reach your goals.
  • Learn how to write an effective resume and conduct yourself in a job interview.
  • Take advantage of the many opportunities available to you if you have a Working Holiday Visa.

12. In-Class TOEIC

  • Monitor your progress from month to month with an official practice TOEIC exam, taken in class.
  • Become familiar with the structure and content of the test.
  • Compare your score with class and level averages.
  • Aim higher each month!

13. Extracurricular Activities
